Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 24, 2026

Your privacy is the foundation of YITI. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the controls you have over your data.

The short version

  • Meal photos are automatically deleted after 30 days.
  • We never sell your data — not to advertisers, brokers, or partners.
  • You can export or permanently delete your entire account at any time, from inside the app, with a single tap.
  • All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES‑256).

What we collect

Account information

Email address, password (hashed), display name, and the goals you set when onboarding (target weight, activity level, dietary preferences).

Meal photos

When you snap a meal, the photo is uploaded over an encrypted connection to our AI vision service for analysis. The recognized foods and portion guidance are saved to your history. The original photo is retained for up to 30 days so you can review your meal log, and is then permanently deleted from our servers and backups.

Usage data

Anonymous, aggregated analytics about which features are used (e.g. how often the AI Coach is opened). We do not link this to your identity.

How we use your data

  • To run the core product — portion guidance, progress tracking, AI Coach replies.
  • To improve the AI vision model on opted‑in, fully anonymized samples only.
  • To send you important account, security, and product update emails. You can opt out of non‑essential email at any time.

Data retention

  • Meal photos: 30 days, then permanently deleted.
  • Recognized meals & progress data: for the life of your account, so trends remain accurate.
  • Deleted account: all personal data wiped within 30 days of deletion request.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can request access, correction, export, or deletion of your data. EU/UK users have full GDPR rights; California residents have CCPA rights. Email privacy@yiti.app and we'll respond within 30 days.

Children

YITI is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
